A cardigan is the piece you reach for without thinking and the one people ask about. Ours run from cropped bow-front styles that sit at the waist of a dress to long dusters that cover a weekend, with cable knit, argyle, floral embroidery and plain cotton in between. Ivory, camel, burgundy and hunter green lead this fall, and the red argyle has already found its people.
Wear one buttoned as a sweater, open over a sweater dress, or thrown over a tee with straight leg jeans. For the rest of the knit closet see Sweaters and Turtlenecks; for the matching bottom half, Skirts.
