A good button-up is the most-worn thing in the closet and the least photographed. Ours start with the basics done properly, white cotton poplin, a light-wash chambray, a navy stripe, and move into the ones with a point of view: beige and slate-blue plaid flannels, Prosperina’s gingham tie-neck blouses, pintucked and pleated-shoulder whites, and cotton blouses with floral embroidery. Wear them tucked into trousers, open over a tank, or knotted at the waist with a midi skirt.
